I used to do it to my buddies all the time. As little pranks go it's pretty harmless and a lot easier than pulling post-it notes or saran wrap off the cars. Of course we would tell each other after they found the car. Still, I wouldn't get too worked up over it as I imagine it is a friend of yours.
